Day 95: Cheese Sandwich, No Orange Juice

Well this was inevitable. I almost made it 100 days without missing a post. And technically I didn't miss this one, I'm just posting really, really late. And it's technically the next day, but I took the photo earlier for lunch. I just never had a chance to do this part of it until now. And it's kind of still the same day for me because I haven't gone to bed yet. But I'm getting there. So enjoy today's photo of my grilled "cheese" sandwich that I made for lunch. Cheese is in quotes because it's not really cheese, of course.

I'm off to bed now. I promise an earlier post tomorrow (today?). Ahhhh I'm so confused!

Day 94: I Love... Lamp

Hey. Hello. What's up?! That was me channeling Vaughn from Community, that wonderful television program that airs on Thursday nights on NBC. Now that that's out of the way.

Sorry. Awkward introduction. I feel like I've been neglecting my posts a little bit lately. For that, I also apologize. It has been a crazy few days. Crazy, but pretty good. I just finished typing out nine pages about what kind of a reader I am. It was interesting, and not necessarily in a good way.

Needless to say, I'm feeling pretty wiped out right now and the thought of taking pictures sounded even more exhausting. It's pouring down rain, and I tried to take a few photos of rain hitting my bedroom window, but they weren't coming out at all. So I had to find something in the house to photograph (I'm not leaving this late in the rain to try and take photos, silly peeps). I have a floor lamp that has a second, adjustable arm to point that light wherever you need it to be. So I turned the light on and adjusted the lamp so the light was pointing away from the camera. For being completely exhausted, I really love how this photo came out.

I didn't do anything to this. For the first time in a long while, I took something that came out exactly how I wanted it to. I think the fact that my walls already have that brownish-yellowish hue really helps this photo. All in all, I'm pretty proud of this fella here.

Oookay. Just one photo. Sorry. But at least it's a goodun. Maybe I can make it two days in a row tomorrow? We'll see. It's also supposed to rain all week, so I may be pretty limited. I guess you'll just have to stop back and find out! Ch-ch-ch-ch bye.

Day 93: Oh My God. Shoes.

Greetings blogodites. I don't know what that means, but whatevs. Short, kind of lame post again today. Sorry. Busy busy with things. I put off taking pictures today, but only because I had a dense book to get through and a response to write after that. But now I'm taking it easy for the night (though I should probably read a little bit more). I have two pairs (pair? I never know with that word) of the same running shoes. Originally, when I was running more, I got two pairs because I would rotate them out (one pair one day; another pair the next) to have essentially the same pair of shoes last longer. When you're putting in high mileage, it's a great idea (albeit a little expensive).

Now I just use one pair for tennis/racquetball/general exercise and the other pair I save for just running. But today they were all together on my bathroom floor and I thought it was interesting to see that many of the same shoe in one place. Plus they're red, which makes it even more cool.

They look a little blurry. I had a choice to make when I was taking this photo: I could either have the majority of the shoe/lettering be in focus; or I could choose to show the texture of the red part of the shoe. I chose the latter. When I took one with the shoe in focus, it made the red too bright and distracting. But of course, the out-of-focusness of this one is a little distracting as well. Ah well.

Hasta manana. That's just not as good without having a tilde...

Day 92: Clean a Clock

Quick post today. I took a photo of the clock at work and the vacuum cleaner. Yep. That's it. Enjoy.

Day 91: For Reals This Time

Yes. Today's earlier post was an April Fool's joke. Sorry to those of you that were disappointed to stop by and not see anything. Here's the actual photo for today, in honor of the Cubbies opening day (which they lost, but it's early, still 161 to go).

This is just a photo of my Sandberg jersey. I actually really like how this came out. Maybe a little on the yellowish-tint side (I didn't adjust anything in Aperture), but I really like the shine that the jersey has. This will be great in my Cubs room someday when I'm rich and famous and have a house that I can dedicate an entire room of Cubbery to (and another to Superman, of course).

I'm done talking for today. Well, at least on here. Work tomorrow, so not sure what photos will be. Maybe I'll do the one I was going to do yesterday before I saw the pen-cord one. We'll see. And you'll see. But not for about 24 hours. Patience is a virtue. And sometimes a girl's name.

Day 91: It's April

So I know this is an early post, but I woke up this morning kind of early and just had to share today's photos. I'm really happy with how these came out. I think they're some of the best I've ever taken. Not only for the blog, but ever. I'm not sure it's worth continuing the blog after today (of course, I will; I can, after all, still get better). I've got a ton of reading to do before the Cubs home opener today (on TV; I wish I was actually going), so I'm just going to post and be on my merry way. Enjoy!

Also, no contest winner since not enough submissions (read: comments) were received. If I get enough this month, I may still do one, but I think it's time to shelve the contest for a while. Have a great day, and go Cubbies!

Day 90: Write This Down

90 days! Can you believe it?! This month has gone by really quickly. I can't believe it'll be April tomorrow. I can't believe it's supposed to snow again tomorrow.... Ah well.

Today's photo comes from The Book Nook. I was trying to find something in the store to photograph, and I had something set up, and then I saw this. There was just something about the way that the "cord" was curled up and over itself. I thought i'd make a really cool photo. Plus the cord is just so blue. Like a great blue. This is from a pen that we have attached to the counter for people to sign their credit card slips with.

Unless I get some more comments overnight tonight, I don't think I'll be holding the drawing for the contest. Thank you to Matt and Jess for commenting, and if you'd like an image print, let me know. But since they've already one a contest (February and January, respectively), I'd much rather let someone new one. Problem is, no one's commenting this month! Maybe I'll just carry it over to next month? Or maybe I'll put the contests on hold for a while. We'll see. Whether or not the contest stops, I promise that the photos will keep on coming! Have a great end of March!
